It’s times like these that remind you about what’s really important in life.
You remember that life is not about the daily grind or your weekly meeting.
It’s not about your job or your hobbies or your play times.
It’s not your car or yard or house and it’s definitely not your “stuff”.
It’s not even about your ambitions or goals or dreams.
It’s about family and how you interact with them and how you relate and communicate with them and how they do the same with you and how all of that relates to God & eternity.
Usually you just go about life as usual, but then something happens that causes you to remember what is really important.
Now is one of those times.
One of those reminders of what you value… what you really value.
It is almost time to say goodbye to Grandma Melnychuk… days, hours, maybe only minutes.
And with that goodbye comes sorrow, grief, and tears.
And hope and togetherness.
Some rough days and some great times of reminiscing.
About family.
And you remember what it’s all about.
Grandma Melnychuk, you will never see, read, or hear this post, but that’s okay because you already know…we love you.
Update: Grandma Melnychuk passed away in the early morning hours of Wednesday May 30th, 2007. Only a few short hours after I originally posted this note.
