As most of you already know, we’re moving. To a galaxy far far away. The Kootenay’s. Okay so it’s not a distant galaxy but it might be another planet and it’s definitely another culture. And moving means packing. Yep, we’re packing. And we’re sleeping. And packing. And eating. And packing. Working. Packing. And when that’s done, there’s always more packing. It sounds more fun than it looks. It’s really quite tedious. And you never realize how much “stuff” you accumulate over time. I’ve packed away stuff I haven’t seen in several months, maybe even longer… it’s just too much. So you purge. Pack and purge. Purge and pack. But soon it will stop because soon it’ll be moving time and so we’ll be done packing. Or at least packing with purpose. Because as you all know when it’s time to move you end up panic packing. That’s were you just toss stuff into boxes without thought to what it is or if you even want it anymore. I dread panic packing. You always end up moving with stuff you don’t want or need anymore. And so later on you end up wondering why you brought this “junk” along since you’ll never use it and it will get tossed or given away or garage sale-ed (I couldn’t spell it saled because that looks too much like salad).
But soon enough the packing will be over and we’ll be moved to our new home 1668 Cedar Avenue in Trail, BC, and then it will be time for something else, something almost as fun as Christmas… unpacking. Yes, un-packing is all kinds of fun. You get to discover all these really interesting treasures, some you had totally forgotten about but are now rediscovering.
And that’s lots of fun.
But not yet. Because right now it’s all about the packing. And writing this isn’t getting any more packing done so… if you’ll excuse me…

June 12, 2007Yahoo!
After tirelessly labouring for an unknown amount of time, Jamie-san has unearthed and restored to humanity the little known and long-lost diamond, “The Evil Durik Strikes Back”, the missing middle of The Kentino Trilogy. With Jamison’s efforts, “The Evil Durik Strikes Back” has been masterfully restored with added digital effects and some new previously unreleased scenes. I hope you and your family will enjoy this treasure for years to come.
You can find, “The Evil Durik Strikes Back,” as well as the first release in The Kentino Trilogy, “The Kentino Saga: A new Hope,” the final release of the trilogy, “Return of the (Incredibly Effervescent) Kentino,” and the brilliant stand-alone masterpiece, “Jamie-san and the Tomahawk,” on the sidebar to the right, or by clicking on the title below…
Return of the (Incredibly Effervescent) Kentino
Thank you so much and enjoy the show.
20 down, 578 to go (or so)
June 7, 2007 Wow! That was fast. It was only a few months ago when this thing called school started. But as fast as Aisha can say, “Supercalifragilisticexbealidocious” (which is actually surprisingly quick if you can look past her messing up the beginning and middle but nailing the, “…docious”), the year is done. Just like that Aden can now do things like recognize the alphabet and sound out words and count really high and do math. It’s amazing what children are capable of.

And it sure helps when they have a teacher like Mrs. Kitchen… she is great.
Today was the last day of the first year of school for Aden and as a wrap up it was parent’s day. A day for us parents to come and enjoy a program put on by the kids. The children all did a wonderful job singing and reciting and acting out a play. It was a treat to be able to skip out of work for an hour and enjoy that time in class with them. It reminds you how fun school actually was, and how valuable your child is. You couldn’t pay me enough to not have children. They are so precious.
Anyway, this first (half) year of school went quick, only 578 (or so) more weeks to go. Yahoo!
The end or the beginning?
June 5, 2007Today marked an ending of sorts… on this day we laid to rest the body of Angela’s grandma, Agnes Clara Melnychuk. Agnes was a woman whose contribution to this life was found in small seemingly insignificant ways: a wonderful holiday meal, an apple – cored and skinned, the perfect cup of iced tea. You could say she “majored on the minors”. But she did the “minors” so well that the total equaled far more than just the sum of all the parts. They equaled what so many people miss out on, they equaled the one thing she could still give these last few years after her stroke, the thing she gave you every time she saw you… her love. Who can forget how she would say “I love you”, you couldn’t miss it. Grandma always made sure you knew, through all the little things, that you are loved.
So today marked an ending of sorts…but through that paradox called death it also marks a beginning, both for Agnes on her heavenly journey and for those of us who remain earth bound.
The beginning of a journey to find new ways to share God’s love.
