hi-ho the dario a packin’ we must go

As most of you already know, we’re moving. To a galaxy far far away. The Kootenay’s. Okay so it’s not a distant galaxy but it might be another planet and it’s definitely another culture. And moving means packing. Yep, we’re packing. And we’re sleeping. And packing. And eating. And packing. Working. Packing. And when that’s done, there’s always more packing. It sounds more fun than it looks. It’s really quite tedious. And you never realize how much “stuff” you accumulate over time. I’ve packed away stuff I haven’t seen in several months, maybe even longer… it’s just too much. So you purge. Pack and purge. Purge and pack. But soon it will stop because soon it’ll be moving time and so we’ll be done packing. Or at least packing with purpose. Because as you all know when it’s time to move you end up panic packing. That’s were you just toss stuff into boxes without thought to what it is or if you even want it anymore. I dread panic packing. You always end up moving with stuff you don’t want or need anymore. And so later on you end up wondering why you brought this “junk” along since you’ll never use it and it will get tossed or given away or garage sale-ed (I couldn’t spell it saled because that looks too much like salad).
But soon enough the packing will be over and we’ll be moved to our new home 1668 Cedar Avenue in Trail, BC, and then it will be time for something else, something almost as fun as Christmas… unpacking. Yes, un-packing is all kinds of fun. You get to discover all these really interesting treasures, some you had totally forgotten about but are now rediscovering.
And that’s lots of fun.
But not yet. Because right now it’s all about the packing. And writing this isn’t getting any more packing done so… if you’ll excuse me…
