So, one of the best things about being out here in the Kootenay’s is winter. Sure, there’s lots of snow, and being at the valley bottom means a lack of sunshine (boohoo, we miss sunshine), but winter here is fabulous. Due to the mild weather, we can play outside any time we want. This year I’ve been able to go snowboarding a few times, we’ve gone sledding a couple of times and the boys and I have been out snowshoeing too. I highly recommend snowshoeing. It is a relatively cheap activity and great exercise. It’s like hiking but not on a path so you can just go anywhere. The guys have been sledding on the snow hill in our yard (see above picture) since we had a lot of snow and I had to put it somewhere. And they even took their bikes and skateboards out for a rip recently. With the weather being so mild around here, getting out in the snow to play just makes sense.
