Sometimes what’s needed is a little perspective

one year later…

It’s been a year since we made the move to BC and it’s definitely had it’s good and bad points, but here we are one year later and we’re still going, yeah!
I hope to write soon about a look back and a look forward since our move.

Three weeks ago…

Yep, I chopped it off. It was just getting way too hot at work for long hair, and summer has just barely arrived and it’s been in the mid-30’s for the last week. It’s at least 40c in the building that I work in, plus the humidity of the 40c acid, and the heat coming from the furnaces and huge pots (16 ft across, 8 ft deep) of molten lead (420c degrees), and the heat from working hard. And what about the real heat of August?!

So it had to go.

Oh, I didn’t tell anyone I was doing it. I was out doing a few errands and so I stopped at a hair salon got it chopped, then came home and shocked everyone. Mostly I shocked Aisha, she recognized my voice but didn’t want to look at me and kept telling me to go to the other room, finally after reassuring herself that hair grows, she got over it. But it took at least a half hour. It was seriously funny… I hope to post a video of it soon.
