Yes, it’s here! Summer has arrived, the heat is turned on to “frying” (too warm for me, I like 20’s not 30’s & 40’s), and everyone is in relax and go play mode.
So… what’s up with us this summer? Well, there’s still a bit of yardwork to be finished, but we (finally!) have sod. It only took a month longer than it should have, (Kootenay time is like normal time only 3X slower) but it’s in and looks great. We’re watering it like crazy and will probably fertilize in a few days to help it along. In another week the kids can play on it. YEAH!!! Ang has been riding once a week and the boys and I have managed one ride so far, I’m hoping for once a week with them as well. Aisha wants to come along so I need to pick up my bro & sis-in-law’s chariot carrier so she can “bike” too. I’ve managed to get two good rides in so far, and once I’m healed up a bit from my last ride and crash, I’ll get out and ride the good stuff (read: big and scary) with my riding buddies.
The boys just started swimming lessons again, we’ve got a bit of camping & hiking planned, and we’re going to do a week in S’toon later too. And I’m sure we’ll do a bunch of impromptu hikes and caches (geocaching). All in all it promises to be lots of fun, bring it on!

June 23, 2009I was looking through a few discs to find a couple of photos for a project when I happened across this one.
I just had to post it. TOO CUTE!

Our new neighbour
June 16, 2009
So, I’m getting home from some band stuff this evening and I pull into my parking spot (a scant 40ft from my back door), shut off the truck, and open the door, only to hear someone shuffling down my neighbour’s walkway. No big deal, I think, it’s probably just my neighbour walking to the front of her house. So, thinking nothing of it, I get out of the truck and open the door behind me to grab a few things to take inside the house. While doing so I hear a few more noises and then a “humphf, humphf” sound and so I look toward the noise to see a new not-so-friendly neighbour staring at me. I closed the back door and opened the driver’s door and got back in. Then reached around to the back seat to discreetly get my camera hoping to get a picture to use as evidence. I turn it on and put the key in the truck ignition to open the window, and just as soon as I get it open I snap a picture, much to my new not-so-friendly neighbour’s surprise. He quickly ran off so I jumped out of the truck to chase him but he got away…. But I don’t really mind ’cause I’ve got the evidence.
