Our new neighbour

bear2

So, I’m getting home from some band stuff this evening and I pull into my parking spot (a scant 40ft from my back door), shut off the truck, and open the door, only to hear someone shuffling down my neighbour’s walkway. No big deal, I think, it’s probably just my neighbour walking to the front of her house. So, thinking nothing of it, I get out of the truck and open the door behind me to grab a few things to take inside the house. While doing so I hear a few more noises and then a “humphf, humphf” sound and so I look toward the noise to see a new not-so-friendly neighbour staring at me. I closed the back door and opened the driver’s door and got back in. Then reached around to the back seat to discreetly get my camera hoping to get a picture to use as evidence. I turn it on and put the key in the truck ignition to open the window, and just as soon as I get it open I snap a picture, much to my new not-so-friendly neighbour’s surprise. He quickly ran off so I jumped out of the truck to chase him but he got away…. But I don’t really mind ’cause I’ve got the evidence.

  3. great pic…your’e brave…lol but yes I am a little jealous too…I would have totally did the same thing…actually did..lol We were camping way back when I think I was with my parents yet and we were out at this campground we used to go to every summer. We were staying in cabins there. I was in my grandma’s cabin with her when someone said there was a bear…even back then I always had my camer with me..lol and a stupid thing to do but I just wanted a picture, I grabbed my camera and ran out the door and got a few shots of the said bear…one of him is just his head looking over my parents car…That was back on the 35mm days and I couldn’t wait to get them developed…I wonder if I can find that photo now……

  4. Oh my gosh…well, that blows the raccoon I saw waddling up a residential street, right out the water!!! WOW….you are brave! But it sounds like he was more scared of you…so……

  5. yeah, they usually are scared of people. It’s just the issue of not getting in their way. This guy wanted to get out of there but I caught him (her?) off guard.
I’m just glad I noticed him before I tried walking in the house.
